Sibling - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia: "In most societies throughout the world, siblings will usually grow up together and spend a good deal of their time during childhood together. They may have conflicts during their childhood years, but usually resolve them later in life. This closeness may be marked with the development of strong emotional associations such as love and enmity. The sibling bond is often complicated and is influenced by factors such as parental treatment, birth order, personality, and people and experiences outside the family.
From the time they are born, our brothers and sisters are our collaborators and co-conspirators, our role models and cautionary tales. They are our scolds, protectors, goads, tormentors, playmates, counselors, sources of envy, objects of pride. They teach us how to resolve conflicts and how not to; how to conduct friendships and when to walk away from them. Sisters teach brothers about the mysteries of girls; brothers teach sisters about the puzzle of boys. Our spouses arrive comparatively late in our lives; our parents eventually leave us. Our siblings may be the only people we'll ever know who truly qualify as partners for life. "Siblings," says family sociologist Katherine Conger of the University of California, Davis, "are with us for the whole journey." (excerpt from Jeffery Kluger,Time Magazine)
So we have it, I was blessed with 1 brother, 5 years older and 1 sister, 1 year 6 mo younger. My brother left home for school and then the Navy when I was only 9, and there are not to many memories of my younger years. My sister however has the best memories and frequently lets me know all the things she remembers me doing growing up. My brother is with the Lord and my sister is in Oklahoma and so we don't get to see each other very often. But when my sister and I are together we catch up on things and it is amazing how alike we are in our likes and dislikes even in our older years. Kaitlyn and Logan will always be close, as will Katie and Hannah as they are both close in age. Emily currently an only child will have lots of cousins to keep her busy and who knows maybe a sibling is in her future. My sons being around 2 years apart have always been close, through the thick and the thin. We are a close family and weathered much, but I can't take credit for any of it. I gave that job to the Lord many years ago and they have been in his hands for a long time.

Matthew 19:26 "Jesus looked hard at them and said, "No chance at all if you think you can pull it off yourself. Every chance in the world if you trust God to do it."
